Host Home Providers

People who are successful host home providers do more than open their homes, they open their hearts to people with intellectual disabilities.

We're looking for compassionate, caring people who are good at:

  • Providing a nurturing, safe, caring environment

  • Responding to the unique needs of individual people

  • Keeping people with disabilities connected to their community

  • Communicating with family members and other care professionals

  • Managing crisis situations

Providers are professionals with certifications in:

  • CPR

  • First Aid

  • Medication Administration


Many have CNA certification, experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and managing special behavior needs.

All host home providers are independent contractors. Earn $1,550 to $4,500 tax-free dollars per month. Payment range is higher for people with advanced behavior support skills and specialized medical care training like g-tube management.
