RMHS Hosts Parent Management Training to Increase Access to Evidence-Based Treatments for Children

Tracie Bush, MA, CKPMT, provided a 2-day training for staff and community clinicians on Parent Management Training (PMT), an evidence-based treatment for children with behavioral difficulties. Ms. Bush is one of four certified trainers in PMT trained by Dr. Alan Kazdin, who developed PMT during his career at Yale University. PMT is one of the most extensively studied therapies for children and has been shown to be effective in reducing oppositional, aggressive, and antisocial behavior. We were excited to bring together a group of community clinicians who work with children with challenging behaviors and developmental delays, and to learn together from Ms. Bush. Our goal is to increase access to evidence-based treatments for children in Denver and were able to utilize Mill Levy funds to cover the cost of the training.
