DHS will use the results to better understand opinions and perspectives regarding access to services in Denver, barriers to accessing services and what is working and not working when people want to access mill levy dollars.
Denver residents pay property tax through a mill levy that supports individuals with I/DD and families. DHS contracts with Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS) to use the mill levy funds to provide services not available through Medicaid and other sources. RMHS also distributes mill levy funds to community agencies, providers and family members to benefit Denver residents with I/DD.
Examples of mill levy-funded services include rental assistance, transportation, physical and occupational therapy, respite, parent training and support, home and vehicle modification, and behavioral and vocational services.
