Programs that offer inclusive community activities.

Organizations that facilitate support groups for parents and siblings.

These are a few of the unique services that are available in 2018 to Denver residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families. These programs are available because people and organizations came up with creative ideas for individuals with I/DD, and they received mill levy funding to make those ideas possible.

Now, Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS) is asking for creative ideas again. RMHS is now accepting applications for 2019 mill levy-funded projects that would increase the service options and provider base to benefit Denver residents with I/DD. Mill levy funding comes from a Denver property tax designated to Denver residents with I/DD.

These special projects target seven priority areas:

  • Basic needs/Environmental supports

  • Behavioral/Mental health

  • Client education and increasing independence

  • Medical/Dental

  • Social/Recreational

  • Training and support

  • System gaps within the I/DD system and across other systems

This funding opportunity is open to individuals, nonprofit organizations and for-profit businesses. Deadline for submission is 5 p.m. MST, Nov. 16, 2018.

Because this is a competitive process, we are unable to assist applicants with the content of proposals. If you have technical questions, please contact Kris Kogan at 303-636-5958 or

On Monday, Oct. 22, RMHS hosted an informational session and Q&A to address general questions about the funding opportunity and application. The questions and answers were compiled and are available to anyone interested in submitting an application.
