RMHS Celebrates National Family Caregivers Month in November

Recognition Is Part of Nationwide Effort to Raise Awareness and Support for Family Caregivers

Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS) is joining organizations across the nation in November to celebrate National Family Caregivers Month and recognize family caregivers.

The Family Caregiver Act was implemented in Colorado in 2010 and allows a person with an intellectual or developmental disability who receives services through the HCBS-DD Waiver to receive those services at home by a person of his or her choice. That person then has the option to receive pay for delivering services to that family member.

The goals of National Family Caregivers Month are to:

  • Raise awareness of family caregiver issues.

  • Celebrate the efforts of family caregivers.

  • Educate family caregivers about self-identification.

  • Increase support for family caregivers.

This year's theme is “Supercharge Your Caregiving."

The RMHS Life Skills & Support (LSS) team is fortunate to partner with many dedicated and passionate family caregivers in both the residential and Life Essentials programs.
