Amazon Smile: Purchase with a Purpose
Did you know your Amazon purchases could mean a charitable donation to organizations such as Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS)?
And you can do that without it adding any cost to your total tab.
If you shop through Amazon Smile, a 0.5 percent sliver of your total purchase goes to a charity of your choosing.
We’d love to be your designated charity.
All proceeds RMHS receives goes to our JumpStart fund. We started JumpStart back in 1993 to replace what was an informal “pass the hat” practice.
What would happen is that our case workers would encounter people in dire situations, and there was no way to cover their needs through our programs, which can have some tight regulations on what’s an acceptable expenditure and what’s not. Our caring and compassionate employees would take from their own pockets to help the people we support.
We created the fund so our generous employees could contribute in a more structured way, and we raise money to add to their donations.
Some of the needs it pays for includes:
Rent or utility assistance, adaptive equipment purchases or help with medical costs.
Household expenses, including the purchase of beds and other furniture or essentials like vacuum cleaners and dishes.
Personal care items such as new clothing and shoes, electric razors and winter clothes
Your designation of RMHS as your preferred charity would enable us to fund more of these needs, which have only grown more acute due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated economic downturn.
