As we near the end of a challenging year we ask for your support on Dec. 8th for Colorado Gives Day
Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, Dec. 8th and is one of the largest one-day giving events in the country.
Nothing about 2020 has been typical. The challenges posed by a global pandemic and an economic recession have given rise to increased needs among the people supported by RMHS. This year, we decided to ask Colorado Gives Day donors like you to help us meet a basic but crucial need.
We are focusing on helping people we support have the items they need to stay warm this winter. Your $40 donation will buy a hat, gloves, socks and a neck gaiter for people we support.
These packages will support the health and safety of Colorado veterans who are experiencing homelessness, children with developmental delays, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities people throughout the state transitioning from mental health or substance use treatment facilities into the community and children and adults in need of long term care.
Any funds collected that go above and beyond what is needed to provide cold weather packages to people in need will go into our JumpStart fund. One hundred percent of JumpStart funds are used to cover other unmet needs for the people we support.
Truly, 2020 has been an unprecedented year filled with difficulties for the people we support. But the challenges we all are facing have also revealed the best of humanity. We have seen countless examples of people lending a hand to those in need. Helping their neighbors. Being kind to one another. Together we can make Colorado Gives Day another example of humanity’s goodness.
Each year, Community First Foundation and FirstBank partner to make this incredible day go even further by providing a $1 million Incentive Fund. Each nonprofit that receives a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund. That means that your donation goes even further!
