As we approach the end of a tumultuous year, we ask for your help as we work to fulfill the emerging needs of the people we support.
Nothing about 2020 has been typical. It has been a year of growth and change and shared challenges posed by a global pandemic. We were thrilled to begin supporting people with their long-term care needs, adding case management services through the Single Entry Point. The continuing public health emergency meant that we also had to rapidly adjust many of our services and supports to a telehealth model, while ensuring that our essential employees had the appropriate protocols and equipment so they could continue critical in-person work.
The adjustment to telehealth was certainly not the only challenge presented to the individuals and families supported by Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS). The global pandemic has given rise to increased needs such as a family in need of technology to access telehealth and remote schooling. We’ve seen veterans experiencing homelessness who need immediate shelter to be safe. We’re working with many people who have lost jobs and need assistance to stay housed and feed their families.
The list of needs is long, but through creativity, flexibility and collaboration our more than 450 staff worked very hard to meet the changing needs of our community.
As we approach the end of a tumultuous year, we know that the crisis is not over. That’s why we are asking for your support as we work to fulfill these emerging needs. Please consider supporting RMHS one of three ways:
Donating on Dec. 8 for Colorado Gives Day to help us meet a basic but crucial need, helping people we support have the hats, gloves and other items needed stay warm this winter.
Designating RMHS as your charity of choice through Amazon Smile.
Making a general donation to RMHS to support our ongoing work and emergency fund for the people we support.
Your generosity will strengthen our community and help to meet the needs of your fellow Coloradans. Thank you for your support.
