Thank You Global Down Syndrome Foundation!

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS) received a generous donation of 770 reusable masks and 2,450 disposable masks from the Global Down Syndrome Foundation (GLOBAL) to protect against the spread of COVID-19.

Over the past few months, GLOBAL has donated 37,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) to Community Centered Boards (CCB) across the state. Materials included face shields, masks, disposable gloves and disposable garment gowns.

The nonprofit continues to offer support to the community through these donations. The ARC of Colorado, which donated masks to GLOBAL for this effort, deserves a shoutout for their efforts as well.

RMHS was amongst one 16 CCBs that received supplies to help protect people supported in communities across Colorado.

RMHS is in the process of distributing the protective masks, and has given out more than half of reusable masks to clients, staff partner, organizations and providers. Masks are being distributed across our programs, including some to veterans supported by a program intended to help those without housing find a place to live.

“Thank you for the bag of 75 masks we gave to our veterans,” Alison Gerbig, Homes for All Veterans Program Manager.” We have received a great deal of appreciation from our veterans.”

The GLOBAL donation came in response to the fast spread of the virus, and their intent was to help protect people we support. RMHS distributed the protective equipment with the help of partner organizations and community networks.

GLOBAL’s fast response was timely and very much appreciated.
