Colorado Resources for Veterans

Need help navigating veteran services in Colorado? Explore programs that offer housing assistance, mental health care, employment support, and more for veterans and their families.

Organizations that serve active military members and veterans offer a wide range of supports designed to help these individuals maintain stability and thrive after military service. These services include health care, mental health support, housing assistance, education and employment resources, and benefits navigation. 

Below are several local and national resources available to veterans across Colorado, including programs in the Denver Metro area and El Paso County. This list is not comprehensive and additional veteran resources can be found online or through your local VA office.

Crisis, Emotional Support & Health

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Comprehensive medical and mental health care for veterans and their families. Services include primary and specialty care, mental health, caregiver programs, women veterans’ programs, and benefits navigation.

Veterans Crisis Line
Immediate, 24/7 confidential support for veterans, service members, and their loved ones. Services include crisis counseling, suicide prevention, and emotional support via phone, text, and online chat.

Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center
Offers behavioral health counseling and crisis support for veterans and their families. Services include counseling, transition support, financial coaching, and wellness programs.

Colorado Springs / El Paso County

Colorado Springs Vet Center
Free counseling and trauma recovery services for active-duty service members, veterans, and families. Services include PTSD, depression, and trauma support in addition to connections to VA and community resources.

UCCS HealthCircle Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic
Provides trauma-informed behavioral health services focused on long-term wellness. Services include individual and group therapy, expressive therapies, and trauma recovery programs.

Housing & Financial Stability

Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS)
Supports veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness through the Homes for All Veterans program, helping them secure housing and long-term stability. Services include housing placement, rental assistance, case management, and community resource navigation.

211 Colorado
Free, 24/7 resource line that connects individuals to local housing, food, and financial assistance. Services include housing and utilities support, emergency assistance, and community referrals.

Volunteers of America – Veteran Services
Provides housing, employment, and case management programs to help veterans achieve stability. Services include emergency and transitional housing, female veterans program, supportive services for veteran families, and veteran employment program.

Home Front Military Network
Connects military service members, veterans, and families to local resources and provides emergency financial assistance.  Services include emergency financial aid, housing support, and referrals through community partners.

Continuing Education Resources through Accredited Online Colleges
Provides guidance for veterans pursuing higher education through accredited online programs. Services include GI Bill information, scholarships, and listings for veteran-friendly colleges.

Colorado Veterans Project
Empowers veterans through employment, education, and entrepreneurial support. Services include job training, scholarships, networking events, and economic empowerment initiatives.
