Meet Hiro

Hiro was born with Hydrocephalus, requiring a great deal of care from his family. Hiro’s mom, Emily, shares how respite care funded by Denver Mill Levy dollars has not only provided her family time to refresh and return fully present to Hiro’s needs, but also how it has given her family opportunities to grow together:

“Respite funding has really opened a lot of doors for us mentally and spiritually. With our family thousands of miles away, Hiro’s father and I don’t have anyone in the area to support us, so [respite] has truly given us a lifeline. We know when we take care of ourselves, we can in turn take care of others with a much clearer lens.”
