Homes for All Veterans Expands to Western Slope and Northern Colorado

Expansion Is Part of Increased Funding from Veterans Affairs The Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS) Homes for All Veterans program is opening up an office in Grand Junction and Greely, adding staff covering Northern Colorado and the Western Slope, thanks to increased funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Homes for All Veterans program annually serves more than 1,000 veterans and their families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Staff offer outreach, case management and support designed to promote housing stability and end homelessness. Overall, nearly 70% of veterans in the program are stably housed within six months. Georgia Edson Will Oversee RMHS Programs as New Chief Program Officer Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS) is excited to welcome our new Chief Program Officer Georgia Edson. Georgia Edson started working in the intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) system in 1995 developing residential and day programs. Her first role was to implement the settlement of a class action suit filed on behalf of people living in California’s state institutions. The settlement provided funding and resources to develop settings for people to leave state institutions and live in the community of their choice. Rocky Mountain Human Services Staff Will Distribute Period Kits Throughout Colorado to Promote Access to Sanitary Products A new Denver-based nonprofit, Period Kits, started with lived experience – founder Ashley Beirne was once homeless and had to choose between buying tampons or buying food.
